BalconySprout (“we”, “this site”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the site currently handles and how the policy will change before advertising, analytics or newsletter tools are activated.
Current privacy status
BalconySprout does not currently run Google AdSense, analytics trackers, advertising pixels or an email newsletter. No advertising consent banner is active because no advertising technology is active. This section will be updated before those practices change.
Information currently handled
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, automatically records technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and error data. These records support security, reliability and troubleshooting.
- Necessary cookies. WordPress and hosting services may use cookies required for authorized logins, security, caching or basic site operation. Public visitors are not currently profiled for advertising.
- Messages you send. The contact form sends your name, email address, topic, optional page URL, and message to the site editor by email. The site does not publish the message or add the sender to a marketing list. A short-lived, anonymized technical marker limits repeated submissions; the message itself is not stored as a WordPress post.
Google AdSense disclosure for a future advertising launch
Google AdSense is not currently active. If advertising is enabled on BalconySprout in the future, Google and participating advertising partners may collect, share and use information as a consequence of ad serving. Technologies may include cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other device or browser identifiers. Third parties may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons and IP addresses to collect information when ads are served.
Before any AdSense code is activated, this policy will be changed from future tense to describe the live configuration, and the site will provide the consent and privacy controls required for the regions in which ads are shown. Affiliate links
BalconySprout does not currently use live affiliate links. If they are introduced, relevant articles will identify them before the first paid link. A retailer may apply its own cookies or collect information after you choose to visit its website. See the Affiliate Disclosure for our editorial and disclosure rules.
Comments and public accounts
Comments and public user registration are disabled, so BalconySprout does not currently collect comment profiles or public account information.
Data retention and sharing
Technical records are retained only as needed for hosting, security and troubleshooting. Messages are retained as needed to respond or maintain a correction record. We do not sell personal information. Service providers may process limited information when necessary to operate and secure the site.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as GDPR or CCPA/CPRA may give you rights to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Use the Contact page for privacy requests. We may need enough information to identify the relevant record and verify the request.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page before data practices change and note material revisions here. This policy was last reviewed in September 2026.
